Dada South report
In the autumn of 2007, 8 disabled Artist Advisors were recruited and trained to run the Dada-Exchange programme. In November we advertised widely (including a feature and advert in a-n magazine) for disabled and deaf artists to apply for the Dada-Exchange programme which offers artists the chance for free tailored 1-2-1 professional development advice and support. Our research had shown that this kind of mentoring support from established and successful disabled artists would be invaluable to early career artists.
The response has been wonderful and nearly a year on there are 32 artists either undertaking the programme or having already completed the 4 sessions with their own personal advisor. As the programme enters its second year of activity we are keen to encourage new applicants to the programme who can share in this thriving and inspiring network across the South East region. The Dada-Exchange programme is funded by Arts Council England, South East and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation
