Foundation Go Short aims to contribute to deepening and expanding short film culture, nationally and internationally, by means of organizing a yearly international film festival for short films.

The preparations for the fifth edition of the Go Short International Short Film Festival Nijmegen have begun. Go Short accepts all genres in short films for its competition programs, divided in the genres animation, documentary, fiction and experimental/artfilm. The short films that will be selected for the International Competition are eligible for the Go Short award for the best short in four different categories. All the Dutch short films will be eligible for the Go Short award for the best Dutch short. All student films will be eligible for the Encouragement award for the best European student short. Besides all these awards per competition, all films will also be in the running for the Go Short audience award which will be chosen by the audience during the Go Short festival. For the first time, we will have a year-round online competition in which we show our five favorite new online films each month. The audience favorite per month will go on to the final selection in February 2012, from which the audience will choose the film that deserves the award. The Go Short festival team has started preparing its fifth edition, which will take place in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Go Short is the only Dutch film festival that exclusively screens short films. For five days around 300 short films are screened in various locations. Besides screenings there are exhibitions, workshops, performances, parties and more! We are now accepting new film submissions for our various competitions. All shorts completed after 1 September 2011 are eligible to compete in our competition programs, student shorts even from 1 March 2011.
