Individuals or groups of artists and craftspeople are invited to hire a stand for a three day Christmas market. Situated in Glasgow’s city centre, only 5 minutes walk from George Square, Queen Street station and the Gallery of Modern Art, the Collins Gallery attracts some 50,000 visitors per year and as part of the University of Strathclyde serves a community of over 15,000 staff and students. In previous years, the gallery has originated winter exhibitions of contemporary craft work by selected UK makers, aimed to attract both festive shoppers and more discerning collectors but experience has shown that visitors always appreciate opportunities to learn more about the makers or, better still, meet them face to face.
