Call for Freelance Visual Artists (Families) - Mapping the Change

WHO: creative and enthusiastic freelance visual artists working with any media.

WHAT: two visual artists are sought to work on families’ drop-in sessions as part of Hackney Museum's 'Mapping the Change' project, a unique community engagement and history project about the people of East London and the impact of the Olympic and Paralympic Games on their lives. Artists will be responsible for sourcing all materials, delivering and documenting workshops, and taking part in meetings with Museum staff and external evaluators.

WHEN: part time, in July and August 2011 (equates to £25k– 30k pro rata)

PAYMENTS: total budget is £1,950 (per artist), including planning and delivery.

DETAILS: candidates must be fine art graduates with minimum two years experience delivering creative sessions with families and some experience of working with community venues. An interest in local history is essential and applications are particularly welcomed from Hackney residents.
