D&AD Awards 2009
WHO: creative, design and advertising communities.
WHAT: D&AD is an educational charity that represents the global creative, design and advertising communities. The D&AD Awards, familiarly known as the ‘Yellow Pencils’, are the most internationally respected and prestigious creative awards for the design and advertising industries. Each year Yellow Pencils (previously also known as Silver Awards) and Black Pencils (previously also known as Gold Awards) are presented at a gala ceremony in London before 1,800 guests. All the winners, plus a wider body of the year’s best work, are showcased in the D&AD Annual & Showreel. The D&AD Awards span 30 different categories encompassing all aspects of creative communications from writing and art direction to architecture, graphic design, music videos and photography. They annually attract over 23,000 entries from internationally leading agencies and design groups, clients, in-house studios, architectural practices, as well as film and post-production companies of over 58 nations. To be eligible into the D&AD Awards 2009, work must have been commercially released for the first time between 1 January and 31 December 2008.
