Marcus Romer, Director of Yorks Pilot Theatre, sets up virtual space to discuss current issues affecting Arts Funding in the UK.
With the Arts Council facing cuts of at least £19m to this year's budget, and more set for the spending review in November, now is the time for artists to support the ACE, in addition to seeking alternative methods of funding.
Marcus Romer has set up www.artsfunding.ning.com to help us create a cohesive voice about the impending cuts and shifts in Arts Funding in the UK. Free to join, it is a place to share information, pass on links, tell your stories and debate.
Romer said: "The purpose really of this site will be to allow the sector(s) to come together and share information and thoughts - as really a joined up and well informed sector will enable us to react creatively and intelligently. This network will only ever be as strong as its members and contributors, so please feel free to make this a 'contact sport' site."
You can create your own personalised page, upload photos and videos, add events listings and create discussion on the Arts Funding forum. Some interesting debates are already taking place, including one on Arts Council alternatives.
