HIGHLIGHTS IN THIS ISSUE - wanted: your views on artists representation, artists events in Swansea, how do you like your Jobs and opps?
1. Inform ARTISTS' REPRESENTATION Are you interested to help AIR research the best routes for representation to enable artists' voices and concerns to be raised nationally and internationally? With 90% of members looking to AIR to lead campaigns for increased representation of artists' concerns to government and policymakers, the AIR Artists' Advisory Group is setting up a working group and consultation process to enable this. Chaired by Paul Scott, the working group starts work in June, looking at models from outwith and within the arts, at what's working and what isn't working within other bodies that aim to meet the interests of individuals. There will be consultation meetings for AIR members to come together - just as they did when AIR was being formed - to widen the debate. Importantly, AIR's aim is to ensure that representation harnesses the full potential of modern communications, allowing views and ideas to be raised by members wherever they are, providing an equality of opportunity in shaping AIR's direction and development.
