Seminar/Public Art and EU Funding [ 12 February 2013 ]
Presented by On the Verge in association with MK Gallery this free, one-day seminar about public art and socially engaged practices, focusses on pan-European collaboration and access to EU funding. It provides a rare opportunity to hear leading artists, curators and funding specialists in the field. The day will is divided into a morning session in which artists Kathrin Bohm, Nils Norman and independent curator Michaela Crimmin offer presentations on their work, and an afternoon workshop led by Christoph Jankowski, European Information Manager at Visiting Arts, the UK cultural contact point for the European Commission’s Culture programme. MK Gallery, Curator of Online Content, full time [ 9 September 2012 ]
Working with the Gallery Director and Communications Director, this post has overall responsibility for curating, delivering and developing the MK Gallery’s website and e-communications. Using a range of media, the post-holder will engage and develop new and existing audiences for the Gallery. This is a key role in positioning MK Gallery as a strong player within the visual arts sector in digital communications, and leads on engaging with artists on the commissioning and production of new artistic content in a range of formats. Opportunity to work with the learning team at the Milton Keynes Gallery, to support the delivery of its programme both within the gallery and in schools and community group settings. The Learning programme engages with diverse audiences of all ages including children and families, young people, adult learners, formal education institutions and those with specific access needs. Practitioners will work alongside the artistic programme to enhance the audience experience by facilitating critical thinking, creativity and the development of original ideas and action.
