Digital Design (&) Art brings together 10 leading practitioners across Design, Craft and Art disciplines to discuss cutting edge digital practice. The event will be hugely informative and inspirational to anyone interested in the creative use of digital technologies in the making of artefacts. Alongside the presentations there will be a breakout area with exhibitors offering advice to delegates on specific areas of practice. This transdisciplinary event aims to bring together practitioners to develop a new vision for digital technologies and their future role in craft, design and the fine arts and to examine the changing cultural and creative roles they imply. Dr Mike Simmons and Professor Paul Hill, two photographic artists and academics, are developing a research project that will address: the significance of creative photography in the representation of personal loss; the effectiveness of creative photography as a research strategy; how knowledge, understanding and awareness in the context of bereavement and grief, can be achieved through creative photographic practice. They are seeking interest from a broad range of disciplines, to bring attention to this important area and foreground issues that to date, have scarcely been touched upon within the arts.
