Cumbria Forest Residency

WHO: Brazilian artist or group of artists.

WHAT: AND is working in partnership with the Forestry Commission (FC) to pilot a residency programme in the Northwest of England. The Wild Ennerdale residency offers a unique opportunity for a Brazilian artist to be in residence in Ennerdale Valley. The valley is located in the heart of the in the western Lake District, Cumbria and is an area of innovative conservation of international significance.

WHEN: This residency will be based in Wild Ennerdale Valley, in the Western Lake District Cumbria in September and October 2011.

PAYMENTS: The following budget is available to the resident artist: An artists' fee and stipend of £2000 GBP; Travel expenses to the UK of up to £1000 GBP.

DETAILS: Accommodation will be provided at the Ennerdale Youth Hostel (private room) and is only accessible by foot or bike (a bike can be provided). The residency can provide accommodation for up to 4 people, so the opportunity is open to applications from collaborating artist groups or families (fees and stipend remain the same as above). The residency is in a stunning, but very isolated location, therefore there is limited phone and no Internet access on site.
