Birmingham City Council and Birmingham City University (Textile Design Department) are hosting a residency in Birmingham Community Museums; Soho House and Aston Hall. The artist will work with participants from Saathi House (Aston) to offer high quality making sessions with a particular slant towards Asian textiles. A shadow artist placement will also offer recent graduates the opportunity to observe and learn from lead artists to develop skills in working with communities and to develop their artistic practice. A sharing event/exhibition at the end of the residency will include activities which can be opened out to the wider community.
