Glass Technician
WHO: candidates with a first degree or equivalent technical qualification and/or substantial demonstrable experience, and an up to date knowledge of 3D and Contemporary Crafts workshop practice, ideally with glass technical instruction and practice experience
WHAT: Technical Instructor - Glass
PAYMENTS: £25,101 - £28,251 pa, including membership of Cornwall's Local Government final salary pension scheme.
DETAILS: to provide a professional level of technical support, guidance and advice to students and users from the School of Art and Design at University College Falmouth, located within the Design Centre on the Tremough Campus. The role will focus upon supporting the Learning Outcomes of the Contemporary Crafts and 3D Design for Sustainability Awards, but will also facilitate cross-disciplinary and modular learning whilst also being flexible enough to meet the opportunities afforded by new strategic directions, e.g. AIR, Enterprise engagement, Academic Portfolio Development etc. Working closely with students within Programmes and Awards, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, the successful candidate will help to devise technical instruction sessions relevant to 3D Design for Sustainability and Contemporary Crafts Awards. Applicants will be organised, have strong interpersonal skills and an inventive problem solving approach adept to engage with, direct, advise and support students within the range of course modules.
