WHO: potential PhD students in Digital Arts and Media
WHAT: PhD Studentship in Digital Arts and Media in Asian-European Perspective (PHDMLM011)
WHEN: to commence in October
PAYMENTS: £6000 pa stipend plus exemption from fees. Overseas candidates canapply for the studentships but will not be entitled to stipend paymentsand will be required to pay fees.
DETAILS: to research the interrelationships between digital arts/media, culture and technology in view of intercultural influences and convergence of digital tools and applications. Applications from candidates interested in working on topics related to Southeast Asia and the Pacific are of particular interest. PhD projects will develop a critical, comparative and comprehensive discourse on media arts that are relevant to the European and the Asian context. Research foci are welcome in a variety of fields of creative practices, including film, video, digital arts, animation and interactive media arts. We welcome applications that focus on practice-based research and/or which are rooted in cultural or aesthetic theory. An additional annual financial award will also be made to an exceptional applicant from each of the University’s Faculties.
