Digital Technical Instructors

WHO: applicants with a good general level of education, technical expertise in either manual printing or digital printing and dying processes with associated finishing. A practical knowledge of health and safety issues is also essential.

WHAT: two part-time Technical Instructors (Maternity cover posts)

WHEN: likely to be fixed-term for 1 year, 14.5 hours per week, 36 weeks per year

PAYMENTS: £25,001 to £28,139 pa. Subsidised local transport is available dependent on working hours.

DETAILS: provide technical advice, guidance and support for students in the use of facilities, equipment and software at the Design Centre at University College Falmouth, based at the College’s Tremough Campus. The successful candidate will be required to evaluate students' competence in relevant technical skills in ways which will inform the assessment of their technical achievement, so an approachable manner and effective interpersonal skills are paramount, supported by a resourceful and inventive approach to problem solving. The successful candidates will be expected to have a commitment to continuous specialist development. An organised and responsible attitude to safe working practices and environmental care is essential for success in these roles. Please note that depending on the knowledge and experience of the applicants, these roles may be combined into a single role of 29 hours week.
