WHO: This post would suit a candidate with an Art background or graduate with an interest in education/teaching. This is an ideal step for those thinking of moving into teaching and those wishing to run workshops.

WHAT: Teaching at Leon is challenging but always rewarding - be warned, working here could seriously change your life! Leon School and Sports College is an 11-19 school, which was designated as a specialist Sports College inSeptember 1998 and has been so since. To compliment a SportsMark Gold award we are also recognised as ArtsMark Gold. The valued contribution of Art is evident in this award. The successful candidate would be working as part of a highly successful department in which 94% of Art learners achieved a GCSE A*-C grade in Summer 2009. The Art Department offers BTEC, GCSE and A’Level courses. The Art Department has a strong team ethos with high expectations of learner’s achievement and behaviour. Facilities would be available to enable you to develop your own practise both within normal working hours and beyond if desired.

WHEN: 37 hours, term-time. Fixed one year contract starting in September 2010. Closing Date: June 11th 2010- noon. Interview Date: 22nd June 2010.

PAYMENTS: MK Grade 5 FTE £17,802. Actual £15,000.
