Sculpture Outside the Classroom

WHO: artists at the beginning of their career.

WHAT: Yorkshire Sculpture Park Artists in Schools programme would like to hear from artists at the beginning of their career to work with schools and the community in the Wakefield district. This is an opportunity to investigate, interpret and produce artwork which explores outdoor sculpture and the benefits of learning in different environments beyond the classroom walls.

WHEN: Delivery time of 58 days contact time with students and 22 days preliminary planning. It is expected that the appointed artist will use this experience to develop their own artistic practice. Closing date for applications: Friday 31 January 2011. Short-listing and notifications: 7-18 February 2011. Interviews will be held on 3 March 2011.

PAYMENTS: Fee: £8,000.

DETAILS: YSP Artists in Schools programme has been developed from the Feiweles Trust, which was established in 1990 in recognition of the contribution which Joe Feiweles made to the development of arts and education in the Wakefield district. Visit the website learning pages for more information.
