# 1 [7 August 2008]

It as been along time since I wrote about this project, A lot as happen since I started this blog..

I had a text message with a photo of my design finished, a part from the artwork that as to go on the plinth.. I did not think it would get this far.. I had to put it off a few weeks until I got my Degree show finished and then I was selected to have my work in the Oriel Wrexham..

so I have got going on this project again, it as need a slow start, I have lost some interest in it as took me 20 months to get this far....

I went into PPA in Deeside who constructed the Design Unit, See it in the flesh and to start the plinth design. I was pleased with the finished design, but it might be a bit busy.. but will not know until I get all the boxes filled..

That is the next part, I also have been into Airbus Broughton to see were it is going to be displayed. It is a well light space, yes it is a good space... I am also worried that I might not have enough items to put into the boxes... I also getting those self doubts will it be good enongh which I think most artist get....

That all happen in June, nothing happen in July, I am not sure if anything will happen in August, I cannot get in touch with anyone.... So watch this space... This how this project as gone weeks were I have been rush off my feet then nothing for Months....

# 2 [27 February 2009]

Once again it is along time since I wrote about this project you would think it is finished, but it is not.

I have found this the most frustrating project I have ever done, I have clear my calendar for the week starting 22nd of March, to get this finished I hope.

It is all this waiting for people to do they bit, that is frustrating. The promises that just does not happen. going to meet people nothing as been done..

Will it get finished I just do not know.

# 3 [9 March 2009]

I have been very busy getting all my work finished for this project, I have enjoy getting back into this project.

In away it as been a good thing that it as took this long too complete, as I feel I have more experience behind me and can pull this project off.

even thou I have lots of self doubt, but I have gone too far to pull out of it now.. Very some more hard work it will be good. I cannot wait to see it complete. As it just lives in different places and boxes....

I am looking for a TV combi DVD at the moment, was getting sponsorship of this, not now because it as taken so long to complete they have pull out, So going to buy one myself just to get it finished, My Husband keeps saying it is about time I got paid for all my work I am doing.. I wish....

I would not have to work part-time as customer assistant....

# 4 [10 March 2009]

I have been feeling unwell for a few days now, been trying to do some work but not getting far today.

starting to panicking as I am working the next two days, so will not have time to do art. only got a week and half to get it together.

Roger thinks it is because I do not switch off, my mind working all the time, I am not sure. I have still got lots to do.On this project and my solo exhibition the week after.

# 5 [24 March 2009]

I been installing my Airbus Project this week. I cannot wait to finish it, but it will seem strange not to be doing it.

I am pleased with some of the boxes and others are not too good. Decided to leave it and go back tomorrow with a fresh eye. Before I came home I made a list of want I need to do.

It is so strange to see the unit come alive as it as spent 2 years on paper and in my head.... I think that is why I am not happy about some of the boxes, I been thinking about them too much.....

Hoping it will be finished tomorrow, I need to think about advertising it and may be getting in touch with the newspapers... but that's when your self doudt sets in. Is it good enough? Is anyone interested?

Why do we have this battle.... Is it because we care too much?

# 6 [25 March 2009]

I have finished my project today, I am going to go and look at it tomorrow with fresh eyes... There are some selection I am not 100% about. It is so strange to see it completed,

To get it finished I have had compromise, I think there is too many photographs, I would like to have had more components from the Airliner....

# 7 [2 April 2009]

Went back to see my Airbus Project today, I decided to leave it alone. If I get it display somewhere else I will change it then.I need to start looking for somewhere else to display it now, not sure how long I can leave it there for. This is were it would be good to have agent or someone to do that, as it takes so long. Also it is going to difficult for me the next few weeks as my Children are off school.

I have had been very busy the past two weeks doing my Airbus Project and this week putting up my first Solo Exhibition, It takes me so long to install my work as I still have collect My children from school and come home to be an Housewife, I wonder sometimes how I fit everything into my day. We as parents what our Children to be part of after school clubs, My Daughter plays Hockey for Wrexham and going to Threatre school, My Son playings Football for the school and the Saturday League,  so My Husband and I spend a few evenings a week out and weekends out. So when do I find time to do want I do????

I do spend a long time sitting in my car with my sketch pad and journal, getting my ideas down on paper and making list of want I need to do that week, which I tick off as I finish them. His that the secert.. How does other parents do it? Does anyone have any tips of me.....

Don't ask me... I'm a single parent, I did my degree whilst being a single parent, which involved a lot of apologising for having to leave lectures early to pick kids up from school, childcare problems, and taking the kids with me to shows as an act of rebellion, and to say "dear art world, I'm a parent, give me a break!" It helped that lecturers are parents too, and brought their kids with them, so I didn't feel like a complete sociopath!!!

# 9 [4 May 2009]

Put an Installation up today for the Inside-out Exhibition. My Husband came to help me which was great as I do not think I could have done it on my own. The Children did not come they had other things to do... well as soon I said what we were doing today they had friends to hang out with..

My Husband was great to go up the ladders so high. I do get worried when I am putting my work as I do not know how it is going to look like until it is up and finished... I do need to go and see if a few days later to see if it is okay, As I never like it straight away need to go back with fresh eyes.

It was a cold wet and windy day so quite difficult to get the stripes tight enought... As all ways there a bits I am not happy about and others I like... The PV not until Saturday so hope it will stand the weather and children do not cut the stripes..

# 10 [12 May 2009]

I went to the PV on Saturday of the Inside-out Exhibition. It went well but got cold when the sun went down. Diana had ask my Daughter to sing, so that was good and it went down well too.. It good to have all the family there...

I have been busy since doing my college work I have my assessment on Thursday... You forget how long it takes to get all your work ready to put up and making sure it is up to date etc. As I am doing my MA part-time I feel it bit out of the loop, you do not see other students or their work so you cannot measure how much work they done. I know I should not think about that, but I do..

We have to do a 10 min presentation first, which I find difficult... I done a poster presentation, It does help to make you sort out in your mind want I am doing in my Art.... One thing about having these assessment, it gives you space to look at your work and may be you can re-group...

Hi Hayley. I'm a mother of four finishing my degree full time this year. I live in Colwyn Bay and commute to The Wirral Metropolitan College. I feel like a crazed woman some days wondering what it's all about, but I dust off and carry on. It's going to be weird finishing in a few weeks. I'm already planning the next stage. A year to regroup my thoughts and do my MA hopefully. It's exhausting, but it gives a massive sense of achievement. I think having the children gives you better planning skills unless they suddenly get sick!!!
