Projecting into the Future

By: Jo Verrent

I'm enabling artist Simon McKeown to project elements from his exhibition 'motion disabled' onto the huge wall of Leeds College of Technology's largest building as part of Light Night in Leeds, and running an associated event called Projecting into the Future on disability and the visual arts on the 9th October. This blog is about the lead up and how it all goes.

# 1 [3 September 2009]

The venue is set (projecting onto the side of Leeds College of Technology building and event to be at the Carridgeworks in Leeds 250m from the best view point). Main aims now are

a) to get BBC Big Screens to show work on the big screens as people arrive for the event (am and pm)

b) make sure the work that was Motion Captured on tuesday is ready in time to be shown

c) get an audience for the event - anyone interested in being part of a (mainly disabled artists only) morning event looking at disability representation within visual arts and and more open afternoon session looking at how disabled people want to engage with the visual arts in Yorkshire?

Jo Verrent

I'm Jo Verrent, a leadership, disability and diversity consultant and trainer working in the cultural sector. I also work as a producer as the work itself is the most important thing (I love the art and especially love the difference and the impact that has on the art).
