Splashy the Penguin

This blog will be following the progression of Splashy the penguin that will be joining a colony on the streets of Liverpool in November.

I have recently graduated from a fine art degree course at Wirral Metropolitan College and I have started the fellowship there. I also work as an art technician. My art practice is based in printmaking, bookmaking and installation work.

I'm going to go to the penguin auction night. I don't know which of my penguins is in the auction as it was a standard email that was sent out. I've been told I can invoice for the use of my penguins on mechandise, so that's good news too.

I've just been on the gopenguin site and Splashy and Tootsie are both on mechandise for sale.Splashy is on a mug, postcard and greeting card and Tootise is on a greeting card too. I want one of everything but it would cost to much.

I hope you're getting royalties, at the very least GoPenguins should give you the products free! I will be buying the kids a Splashy mug each :)

Just got back from the penguin preview party. It was great to see all the penguins together. There were so many of them and so many that I hadn't seen before. They're going out onto the streets of Liverpool in a day or two, I can't wait.

It's the Penguin Preview party tomorrow night. I'm excited but nervous too, especially as I only have one invite so can't bring my hubby with me. I'm sure it'll be fine, atleast I know a few of the other artists because I worked in the penguin studio.
It seems so long ago since I was working on my penguins now. I can't wait to see them again.
