Guerre de Verre Chess Set

Currently I'm working on a Guerre de Verre (war of glass's) chess set and board mounted on a coffee table height table for the ChessPoint Exhibition at Northampton Museum.

I have always wanted to make chess pieces out recycled domestic glass items I have come across at Deptford market. Here is a picture of me with some pieces on the board. It has to be ready for Nov 10th!

# 2 [11 November 2009]

Soz been too buzy making to report on the making of La Guerre des Verre. But last night Chesspoint came to pick them piece up (grout still drying in places). They liked what they saw and took it off to Northampton Museum, the show opens on Saturday 12th Nov. The sound of dead lines rushing by woosh.
