Downsizing

By: Josie Faure Walker

I've got to move studio and am hoping to work from a spare room in a prospective new flat. In the interim time I'm going to have no space to work at all. Will this be the start of a whole new me as a tidy hot-desker working in miniature? Or will my work be driven to a halt?

Got to go to the studio today to sort the wheat from the chaff. I'm going to be absolutely ruthless and have no choice but to throw most of it away. Out of all of my work and materials I am most concerned about saving a pair of table trestle legs I found on the street.

Shall I just throw it all away? The work that's too bulky will simply have to go. There's no way at all I can store it in my house. I might just burn it all and start from scratch. Not that I wasn't always starting from scratch anyway, but I seem to have so much crap that has become furniture rather than work, and is only so so and I don't care for it at all....
