When I was growing up in Liverpool in the 60’s, my mother had a lot of sayings. A favourite saying of hers was ‘it would be lovely with an onion’. That just meant that it was so gorgeous she could eat it.
I am an artist printmaker and I live in Wallasey, Wirral with my husband and son. I am a graduate from Wirral Met College/JMU with a BA(hons) in Fine Art. My work is about identity and memory. I like to use pattern to create images that encapsulate the very essence of a memory. I like the comfort and predictability of pattern while at the same time I delight in the idea of trying to create something that is truly random.

I love the smell of frying onions. It takes me back to my childhood, and the holidays I spent in my grandmother’s caravan in North Wales.
After a trip to the local Welsh butcher my grandmother would cut up and fry a large onion and then fry the lamb chops. To accompany our chops and onion we would have thick slices of fresh crusty bread with butter.
