The BA in Visual Arts is run at Todmorden College on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border. It encourages all art forms and media, and includes professional development as well as fine art practice.

I make figurative paintings from family snapshots. I use the photograph purely as a starting point, allowing the meaning of the painting to develop in the process of making it. My work often communicates ideas of childhood development and our relationship with children. The results are often ambiguous and unsettling narratives. By painting family snapshots, I aim to draw attention to the construction of family and individual identity. I use my own childhood snapshots, but am also interested in private snapshots that have become public, using images from the media.
