Knit a Year

By: Elizabeth Barlow

The process is simple.  Knit no less than 2 rows of 10 stiches a day for a year.  The colours that you chose should reflect your mood.  I started doing this on new years eve.  Then I thought that it has usefulness for others, to understand and reflect on mood as well as the relaxation of knitting. Watch this space.

# 1 [25 February 2010]

This one may have legs.  More people involved now, started an online network which I am growing slowly but surely.  Inteview done for a knittig mag, Irrationally excited about that one.  Am off to think about funding so that I can really let it run about a bit.

From now on I am going to call myself a topical artist.  Most people say that they are a willow artist or a sculptor but as a right old flibberty jibbet of a person I have never stuck to one medium for long enough to say such things.  There are however some persistence themes in my work, society, trace and loss being a few of them.  If I work in the community I am more inclined to ask about topics that a group wished to explore than what they wish to work in.
