Not been on here for a while as had a fall and my right hand has been injured, have had to wear a splint, which is quite restricting to me. It has happened at the worst time for me as I have so much work to contend with. I can only do my best, hoping that it may improve in time, bear in mind it's four weeks now since it happened.
On a happy note I passed my option so I was pleased with that. It was drawing and I really enjoyed it. I used objects as my drawings, I used them in assemblage inside drawers and frames.
It was so much fun to do as I am a collector of found objects. I need to be strong though afterwards and remember to throw out too or it can be a problem!
Book me a place at the Priory when I have finished my degree.....
Well done on the option result Pamela. Keep going despite the splint, maybe you can find a way of expressing this untimely restriction within the work. Out of adversity can come greatness! Dave.

Its reading week and I need to catch up on all my written work as I have been distracted by other things.
There is a lot to do this year and I did not have a very good start but I hope to get back on track before I go into panic mode.
I'm sure everybody feels the same at this moment, I just have to refocus on my work then I will feel much better.
Feeling stressed again, had a fall and my hand in a splint. Thats all I need at the moment with all the work I have to get through, I may have to change my work if I find it difficult, keeping my fingers crossed. I can type so thats fine for my essay which is coming up soon.
I am hoping to discuss the idea of women artists using their own domestic issues incorporated into their practice. My own work is related to family issues so hope I can have a little insight into the work of artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Tracy Emin and Mary Kelly. These artist have used objects in their work that reflect certain issues that have happened in their life.
My work for my core will be based on this also, but time is short and I have to focus on the degree show. Fingers crossed I can complete it, (oh I can't it hurts)!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Dave, I know others feel the same. It is just getting the motivation to do my work at the moment. I did feel inspired today though. When I feel the need for inspiration I usually pay a visit to an art gallery, so thats what I did today and it really helped me. A bit of art therapy indeed!

Good luck Pamela. Everybody feels the pressure of the final year and we all have our sticky moments. Keep putting in the work and I am sure everything will work out just fine. Regards, Dave.

This is my first blog on A.N so I hope that it comes across okay. I am getting ready for the degree show and gathering together all my research and objects which will make-up my work. The time is flying by and its getting a bit scary now, but I still enjoy the work so that is half the battle.
I love to use found or bought objects in my work and use print and embroidery, I also use text to get my feelings across in my work.
I am now hoping to use furniture for the degree show, I am hoping to get an old wardrobe and dressing table.
I will be using clothes also and hope to stitch into them eventually. It is going to be about peoples memories and also if they hold any secrets.
Thanks Carolyn I like to have audience participation, my art incorporates peoples thoughts and emotions and who better to get this from but from the people themselves.
They know how they are feeling inside and I can only incorporate this through my art as best I can.

Engaging people to become involved can be quite a challenge I suppose. I wonder if more people would feel motivated to respond if they had a card given to them personally so they could fill it in and pop it in the box? It might be nice to see if it made a difference.

Hi Carolyn,
Thanks for your comment was unsure what to write in my blog, but practice makes perfect. So will do my best to write about my ups and downs in my work. I checked my boxes in college (I have boxes which people can write their memories or secrets in) but not much in them as yet!
Maybe nobody has any memories or secrets? Surely not, if anyone wants to reply to me feel free, these will be incorporated into my work.
They will be sewn into clothes which I will put on display either in a wardrobe or hung up.
Your comments are welcomed.
