Landscape-Portrait

Landscape/Portrait (www.landscape-portrait.com) is a collaboration between artist Kevin Carter, artists, communities from around the UK.
The project presents self-portraits of real people across England and Scotland and compares them with the demographic portraits that exist based on official statistics for their postcode area, whilst creating a unique view of the region, its people, places and communities.

Landscape-portrait is due to staged in Bournemouth by SCAN (http://www.scansite.org/?w=1129&h=729). The work will be staged in three locations, Kinson, West Howe and Townsend. At the same time Simon Yuill (http://www.lipparosa.org/) will be producing a project engaged with the idea of commons and common land.

Kevin Carter

Over the past eight years, Kevin Carter London (UK) based media artist and co-lab projects founder, has created a range of award wining art works. In 2004 he was nominated for a BAFTA and recently his work for Burnley Borough Council was instrumental in the council winning a regional RTPI Award and being short-listed for National Awards 2007.
