I took a quick peek, but didn't have time to even finish letting it open. It looks fascinating and I will come back when I have a bit more time - I'm intrigued and I want to see what happens! Be back soon......

It's a curious thing to search for the right word. So often that one word carries a totality of meaning and the issue becomes whether or not that meaning can ever be conveyed in its totality. That simple reality of communication in a way becomes collaborative because one hopes the person receiving will come along with the intended meaning and perhaps add their own meaning too. It's no wonder language and communication is a part of philosophy.

Silly me, I didn't take in the date - but I still like it a lot. Not at all artistically (well, that's not quite true, I do sometimes see some connections in our work), only that we posted at about the same time, which has happened on occasion before. Cheers.

Hi David, I like seeing your hand in the work, it gives another dimension. It is a fascinating thing to pair symbols and the inaccuracies of the hand - at least I find it so, having explored that a bit myself. Happy painting!

Yes, I was very intrigued when you deleted one of your blogs here, 'residue' I think it was - or it became that, and you were not able to delete the comments I had posted to it. That was a fascinating occurrence of what remains after an act and the limits of personal intention when it is involved with an outside influence, in that instance it was two influences really, my own interaction with your thoughts and a-n's rules of fairness.............The thing I see with virtual presence is a drive to narcissism and self-absorption. What I mean is there is an overwhelming force of presenting me, me, me and views from our point of view. I think most of us already struggle with trying to keep balance between self-centeredness and engagement with others. I think our virtual presence removes that struggle and the social understanding that we must at least try not to be self-absorbed, and allows full blown self immersion. It is a curious thing, the more advanced our culture becomes, the more we are objectified and turned into faceless masses, the more our propensity to individuation and self-absorption. I wonder how that tension will affect us?

Hi David, congratulations on those mentions, I saw you were way up on the list, well done! The question of persona as avatar is an important one right now because we are becoming 'socialized' through media and I can see the the blurred boundaries rising on the horizon. It is a question which interests me very much right now because I think this is going to change the way we interact - for better or worse...

Hi David, no apology needed - I think I was apologizing for having a fantasy(!!).......I've had thoughts before of making art based around a key or legend (not as in myth, but the other kind, as in list). I haven't done it but it's still twirling around in my head.....hey, how do you make the Morse code key work on the keyboard?

Hi David, just catching up with your output. I agree with you, I prefer the aesthetic of the original characters too, but as I was looking at the ones, zeros and eights I thought to myself - that's interesting, binary infinity. I have to admit a bit of disillusion as I then read your key - nothing wrong in the key, just my dashed fantasy.
