# 23 [5 March 2011]

The cheque has cleared, I ended up with £320. It's still much better than giving it away like I had planned but as it started out as $950 it's quite a drop. I'm just happy it all belongs in a permanent collection now and of course being able to pay some bills is a bonus.

# 22 [14 February 2011]

Can't believe it can take up to ten weeks to process the cheque, never mind I'll just have to wait longer than I thought. No idea what they're going to charge me for changing it into pounds though.

# 21 [8 February 2011]

yay, received the cheque today along with a lovely letter. I'm absolutely skint so it'll come in very handy.

# 20 [31 January 2011]

I recieved an email yesterday from Yuko to ask if I would take $600 instead of $712.50 for my work to go to the Yuko Nii Foundations permanent collection. I still can't believe it, I was going to donate the work anyway, so I'm really chuffed. She wrote a lovely message about how much she loved my work and what it meant to her. It was really touched and I'm so delighted! https://sites.google.com/site/yukoniifoundation/

# 19 [19 January 2011]

I emailed back in response to donating my work, but haven't heard anything. The work came down a while ago so I think my work must have been excepted into the collection.

# 18 [8 January 2011]

Yuko has emailed the artists of the 'Special choice' book art show asking if anyone would like to donate their work to the Yuko Nii foundation https://sites.google.com/site/yukoniifoundation/home

So I have decided that I will donate my work to the foundation collection as it would be nice to have work in a permanent collection, plus I can't really afford to ship it home, it would cost £50 plus $25 that they would take as a handling change and it will look good  on my c.v.

# 16 [2 November 2010]

The curator of the book art show has been in touch to ask if the artists would allow their work to remain in the gallery until early next year as it's been so well recieved. Only the "Special Choice" show part will remain though, which she will add to with other artists work and will be on until 2nd Jan 2011.

Hi Aine, nice to hear from you, it's great to hear that you are enjoying reading my blog. I don't know much about blogs etc, I started using a-n when I was doing my degree as a way of keeping my art diary and have continued ever since. It's within my ability to use, I find it easy as I don't have to think about how it will look, they all look the same! This means I can blog often as it's just a few minutes job. For me it's just about getting it out there and getting the feeback I need. I also find other rescources very useful e.g. jobs and opps. And it's all on one site which is ideal for me. Your blog is really interesting and your work is beautiful. I understand what you mean, I like the way you've got images running through your writing and how it is sort of personalised and has more than one page, it sort of appears almost like a personal website but I wouldn't have a clue how to do any of that. I do have a website though that shows my work www.julie.dodd.co.uk It's through moonfruit which is fairly easy but very time consuming for me, so it usually only gets updated once a month because it takes me so long. This blog hasn't been written on for a long time now, I've just looked at the link I posted and I think that was the page I was trying to direct you to, my work is the forest (hedgehog looking stuff) on the floor on the 1st image, the 5th image of half a log and the 11th image of my forest again. If you want to see what I'm up to my main blog is http://www.a-n.co.uk/artists_talking/projects/single/648002 Thanks for getting in touch, I'll keep popping back to your blog to take a look at what you're up to.

Julie that link just goes to the main blog address - it did not take me to a particular post. I have a blog on blogspot (I used to use one on here but dislike the image sizes and so on) anyway Maybe you could link to the specific post on the blog. I am enjoying reading about your project and learning too - I did not know about the international alternative postal couriers for example............. http://printmakingart.blogspot.com check it out - I wished these blogs could be more interlinked with the other blog networks such as those on Blogspot and Wordpress.
