Visual art exhibitions and events with a platform for critical writing
This not-for-profit rural arts organisation promotes the creation of new artworks on and about Dartmoor by commissioning and providing exhibition opportunities for local, regional and national artists. Central to its work is its relationship with the residents and communities of Dartmoor; its projects aim to reflect contemporary life on the moor. A current project that typifies its approach is Focus on Farmers, which saw three pairs of artists (comprising of a lead and apprentice artist) live and work with a farm family in Devon last year. An exhibition featuring the outcomes of the residencies is on display at High Moorland Visitor Centre in Princetown until the end on the month, it will travel to venues across the South West of England next year. Aune Head Arts (AHA) is directed by a five-strong board and has a paid-for membership that ranges in price from £5-8 per annum for a subscription. Members join the network for different reasons: some to meet fellow artists and join group activities such as the monthly walks or annual dinners; others wish to show their support for AHA's projects and aims. Members receive a quarterly newsletter with information on all its projects...
