Bath Area Network for Artists BANA was established in 1998 and is a non-selective network of artists that are committed to raising the profile of art and celebrating the cultural life of the region. BANA's main strength lies in its 200-strong membership that ranges from ceramicists to video artists its voluntary committee relies on members coming forward with ideas for projects and encourages anyone interested in the day-to-day running of the network to get involved. BANA has just received RALP funding to embark on Into the Light, a fifteen-month project that will allow the group to realise its potential and help secure a sustainable future. Over the coming year project coordinator Anne Morrison will be forging new business partnerships and bringing in fundraisers and marketing consultants to help BANA devise a range of professional services to support artists in Bath and North East Somerset. Current activities include a website and artists' database, a newsletter and artists' networking cafés. Two exhibitions will be held over the period, the first is at Hotbath Gallery until 17 September and the second is planned for June 2004. Contact: BANA, c/o 16a Broad Street,...
