Lincoln Art Programme has worked beyond the confines of a gallery space since 2009. Its nomadic approach to curating immerses everyday sites and spaces throughout the county in contemporary practice, prompting the audience to question and reconsider the familiar. Its current programme 'Trivia of Eccentric England', has seen a ten-day series of subtle interventions by artists Uddin and Elsey within the waiting rooms of Lincoln Central Railway Station, drawing on the British fascination with railways. Playing railway themed board games, watching train spotting videos and listening to train inspired music, the audience was immersed in a world of locomotion. The programme has also seen Canadian artist Anthony Schrag challenge locals to question normality in his search to find and crown the most 'normal' of the county's residents through a competition run by the local newspaper that culminated in a parade of normality at the local agricultural fair.www.lincolnartprogramme.co.uk A spectacular new addition to the skyline of Portsea Island was unveiled earlier this year at the Hard Interchange, a busy transport hub on the waterfront in Portsmouth.
