On their website Live Art Development Agency (LADA) say, "Live Art is a terminology for new performance cultures that respect no artform borders and understand no limits. Live Art is not an art form per se, but an umbrella that covers a diversity of interconnected time based possibilities that may be as extreme as Forced Entertainment's theatre, Franko B's body installations, desperate optimists' web based project or Moti Roti's hybrid spectacles.Live Art is therefore a strategy to frame practices primarily conceptual in nature, driven by ideas rather than form, that are more process than product based, unrestricted by concepts of place and space and rooted in ideas of presence. Live Art is a way of suggesting that questions such as "is it art?" or "is it theatre?" are not as important as the ideas at stake."As 'not an artform per se' live art still suffers from falling down the gaps in funding and support structures and in mechanisms for distribution and promotion.
