Visual art exhibitions and events with a platform for critical writing
David Titley finished his MA in Manchester in 2002 and felt a sense of isolation upon returning to his home town in rural Lancashire. He set up Pavilion in December of that year after obtaining a lease on a studio bedsit and placing an open call in [a-n] MAGAZINE. So far, he has shown the work of nine artists with support from Arts Council England North West and Mid-Pennine Arts. The space is approximately 15x17ft and offers emerging artists the opportunity to experiment. Titley "looks for work that challenges the norm and exists outside the superstructure of the art market; work that expands the notion of art itself and leaves the viewer with a different pair of spectacles".
