Artists-in-Residence 2008-07-30
North West Wales NHS Trust, Gwynedd County Council and Safle invited applications from artists to work on a new artist in residence public art project, as part of a flagship arts in health care programme. The selected artists were Alison Mercer & Karen Brett.
Alison works primarily in stitch with fabric and in currently working in the maternity unit. Karen works with photography/moving image and sound and is working with both staff and patients. Both are working in residence at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, North Wales from April 08 – March 2009. Each receive a £13,200 fee plus materials and studio space. Exhibition(s) of work during the residency are planned at the hospital and in other locations.
