The Craft Potters Association aims to encourage the creation of fine works in studio ceramics, to promote their value in society and to foster the interest of the public in ceramic art. In 1991 the CPA set up the Craft Pottery Charitable Trust to support educational activities in ceramics. The Craft Pottery Charitable Trust has several grant schemes, including an annual award of grants up to '1,000 in value, as well as occasional awards such as the Mick Casson Memorial Award for functional ware. The benefit should apply as widely as possible for the preparation of books, travel, film, conference attendance and organisation and other ceramic projects. The trustees will not support grants towards formal education, student exhibitions or subsistence and living expenses.
