Abandon Normal Devices
Abandon Normal Devices is driven by a collaborative partnership between three of the UK? leading institutions dealing with art and digital culture. FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) in Liverpool, Cornerhouse in Manchester and folly in Lancaster have joined forces to collaborate on the exciting task of imagining a new festival from scratch.

Canal Boat residency [ 22 July 2011 ]
AND is working in partnership with the British Waterways to pilot an artists residency programme on the Canals of the Northwest of England. Cumbria Forest Residency [ 22 July 2011 ]
AND is working in partnership with the Forestry Commission (FC) to pilot a residency programme in the Northwest of England. The Wild Ennerdale residency offers a unique opportunity for a Brazilian artist to be in residence in Ennerdale Valley. Big M screening/exhibition [ 22 February 2010 ]
Abandon Normal Devices is teaming up with ISIS Arts and the Big M, the world's first inflatable cinema to present an experimental and diverse film programme for Flagmarket Square in Preston. Submitted work should be existing screen based work addressing themes and subjectsbroadly relating to the ethos of the AND festival, including but not limited to: food and health, work and play, diversity and disability. Gleaners, archive residency [ 5 February 2010 ]
Abandon Normal Devices is a new festival that welcomes audiences to experience the best in new cinema and media art utilising moving image from screens and galleries. Abandon Normal Devices has paired with the North West Film Archive to present a new project, Gleaners. Offering two filmmakers an opportunity to spend a month each within the archive, exploring the collection and creating a new work by collaborating with musicians. Read full listing…
