Acme Studios

Acme Studios is a London-based charity, formed by artists in 1972, which supports the development of fine art practice by providing artists with affordable studio and living space. Acme provides over 370 studio units, runs work/live and studio residency schemes and manages an international agency programme for visiting artists. Acme is recognised as the key strategic development agency for artists' studios in England and has helped more than 5,000 artists with this fundamental means of support. Acme Studios is funded by Arts Council England. Acme's long-term goal is to create a permanent and sustainable network of affordable, accessible and high-quality studios for artists in London.

Studio Residency in Southwark [ 25 June 2010 ]

Programme 3 (2010/12). Acme Studios and Southwark Council are offering a rent-free studio for 18 months plus a grant of #10,000. The residency is based at Acme's new-build studios at The Galleria, Sumner Road, London SE15. The Fire Station Work/Live Residencies Programme 4 (2010 - 2015) [ 6 November 2009 ]

Acme Studios is offering: 11 five-year work/live residencies at low rents & 1 two-and-a-half-year bursary (£5,000/year + rent-free work/live space) for a disabled or deaf artist at the Fire Station, Gillender Street, London E14. The residency programme at the Fire Station, offering low-cost combined working and living space to artists selected from a national submission, was established in 1997. The fourth programme, commencing April 2010, is open to applications from practising fine artists throughout the UK who will be over 23 on 1 November 2009. Studio Residency in Tower Hamlets [ 13 June 2008 ]

Acme Studios is offering a free studio for two years plus a grant of £10,000 a year. This new residency (starting in September 2008) will be based at our new-build studios at Atelier Court, a ground-breaking partnership development with affordable housing provider Swan Housing Association, in Leven Road, Poplar, London E14. The development consists of 66 affordable housing units and 21 affordable studios. The residency is an opportunity for an artist involved with socially engaged practice to develop significant relationships, through their work, with local residents and the wider community.
