WHO: UK and US nationals are eligible to apply, as are nationals of other countries if they have been resident for at least 5 years in the UK or the US. The 9-month Scholarship is awarded to an early-career painter while the 3-month Fellowships (usually three) are for mid-career painters.
WHAT: residencies for painters in Rome. Abbey Awards offer painters residencies during the academic year 2012/2013 in excellent modern atelier studios at the British School at Rome, a historic building close to the Borghese Gardens which houses researchers in the fields of archaeology, art history and ancient history as well as fine artists.
WHEN: the deadline for receipt of completed applications is 18:00 on Friday 13th January 2012.
PAYMENTS: all expenses are paid plus a monthly stipend of £700 for the Scholar and £800 for the Fellows.
DETAILS: the Administrator also manages the Abbey Harris Mural Fund which makes grants for
the creation of murals in public places in the UK.
