AHRC studentships for MFA and PhD study in Fine Art

WHAT: Newcastle University is part of the AHRC Block Grant Partnership and expect to award funding for 2012 entry for all three AHRC schemes. The Professional Preparation Master’s scheme supports students undertaking a Master’s course that focuses on developing high level skills and competencies for professional practice. A full award comprises fees and an annual, tax free stipend of £8,845. The Research Preparation Master’s scheme supports students undertaking Master’s courses that focus on advanced study and research training explicitly intended to provide a foundation for further research at doctoral level. A full award comprises fees and a stipend of £9,490. The Doctoral Awards scheme provides studentships to enable students to undertake and complete a doctoral degree (PhD). A full award comprises fees and a stipend of £13,590. If you are a part time student, support is pro rata.

PAYMENTS: the studentships cover full fees and living expenses; two years for the MFA, and three years for the PhD. Stipends are awarded subject to AHRC eligibility criteria.
