Gleaners, archive residency
WHO: Moving image artists who can display a connection to the region and whose work will maximise the use of the collection of moving image material made available to the artist for local audiences.
WHAT: Abandon Normal Devices is a new festival that welcomes audiences to experience the best in new cinema and media art utilising moving image from screens and galleries. Abandon Normal Devices has paired with the North West Film Archive to present a new project, Gleaners. Offering two filmmakers an opportunity to spend a month each within the archive, exploring the collection and creating a new work by collaborating with musicians.
WHEN: April-May 2010
PAYMENTS: £2,500
DETAILS: The North West Film Archive is based in Manchester and there is no extra budget for travel and accommodation, artists should consider this before applying.
