WHO: artists.

WHAT: the council wishes to appoint an artist to develop and install a variety of imaginative pieces of public artwork within the town centre. The artist will be expected to work with the local community in order to develop proposals. A number of opportunities exist for the introduction of Public Artwork within the town including street furniture, entrance floorscapes, stone cut lettering in the floorscapes developed through a community literature project, a viewpoint sculpture and an architectural glass project. The artist will also be expected to work with the Design Team set up to deliver the Bargoed Town Centre Regeneration Project to ensure art forms are fully integrated into the public realm.

WHEN: the project must be completed by December 2013. Expressions of interest must be received no later than 27 August 2010. The return date for all submissions to be no later than 12 noon on 7 September 2010.

PAYMENTS: the budget for this project including collaboration, planning applications, concept and detailed design, foundations, fabrication and installation is £150,000 (excluding VAT).
