17th International Studio Program- On dilettantism
WHO: All visual artists
WHAT: The 17th International Studio Program of the ACC Galerie Weimar and the City of Weimar require artists to respond to the theme of dilettantism (latin meaning- to enjoy or delight), the amateur, the hobbyist, the enthusiast, the unlearned and the unschooled. Visual artists with an affinity for this theme, who feel motivated by this proposal to contemplate dilettantism and address it artistically, who can find something new in this text for their own work, are invited to apply to the program.
WHEN: The following time periods are available to chose from: Feb 1 – May 31, 2011. June 1 – September 30, 2011. Oct 1, 2011 – Jan 31, 2012
PAYMENTS: Monthly stipend of €1,000
CHARGES: Rent free accommodation, resources and studio provided.
DETAILS: The participants must cover their own travel costs, although the program attempts to find additional funding in cooperation with the artists. Studios do not offer any special equipment such as photography, video, digital, etc.
