Granted
Making and funding work: crowdfunding (Manchester)
Enabled through a partnership with Castlefield Gallery, Manchester as part of the Granted programme. This event has now taken place.
In this harsh economic climate, visual artists who've got interesting ideas to further their practice and careers are seeking out dedicated opportunities to learn about how to enhance their project pitching and fundraising techniques. In response to this, a-n The Artists Information Company that specialises in artists' professional development and crowdfunding organisation Wedidthis are collaborating to deliver a new seminar programme designed to do just that.
Seminars are aimed at proactive visual artists and independent arts organisers/freelancers with at least five years of practice and professional experience behind them, an established or identified platform for their practice, know their own professional development needs, already have new projects in mind and who would benefit from an immersive, interactive full-day ‘workshop' experience.
The first event in the series is on 23 February, 10am-4pm, enabled through a partnership with Castlefield Gallery, Manchester. Valued at £100, artists with a current a-n+AIR membership or Individual a-n subscription and who meet the application criteria can apply for a fully subsidised place. 20 places are available. Priority will be given to applicants in North West England.
Successful applicants gain access to follow-up support including cash bursaries to enable further work on the best ideas and projects that emerge from the day's workshops.
This seminar forms part of the Granted professional development programme - more information at www.a-n.co.uk/granted

Hi I am trying to find funding for an art project so I would find these sessions very helpful. Will there be any more sessions? Are there any other dates for this in Staffordshire or near Birmingham? Thanks Miranda
