How do I get my exhibition listing featured on the Degrees unedited homepage?
When you post a degree show listing with an image it will automatically be featured as the Latest show on the Degrees unedited homepage. It will remain there until someone else adds and publishes a degree show listing with an image.
The home page is refreshed every 15 minutes - this is to speed how quickly it displays. After publishing your listing it will take up to fifteen minutes to appear on the home page
I have posted a listing but it hasn't appeared on the website.
You must publish your listing before it will appear on the website. The publish function allows to compile your listing to get it the way you want it before it goes live.
I have published my listing but it still hasn't appeared on the website.
If the starting date of your exhibition or event is more than two months ahead it will not immediately appear on the website. It will automatically publish when the start date is less than two months away.
The number of words I have entered for my listing is less than the 220 maximum. Why do I get an error message saying the maximum number of words is 220?
It is likely that you have copied and pasted the text from a word processor such as MS Word. This can sometimes copy in a whole load of invisible formatting characters than can run to hundreds of characters.
If you think this is the case then save your word document as text only and copy and paste from that.
The 220 words is also an approximation as the system is counting characters including any hidden html tags. The maximum number of characters is 1500.
How do I add an image to the listing?
After you have saved your listing and you are in the preview window click the Add image link in the user panel in the right hand column.
To get to the preview window from elsewhere click Manage my shows, select the show you want to add an image to. Then click the Add image link.
The image I want to add will not upload.
Image files must be in .jpg, .png or .gif format and must less than 1Mb file size. If it does not meet this specification your image upload will fail.
I have uploaded an image but the large version of it that appears when you click the thumbnail is much smaller than other images on the site.
When you upload images they are automatically processed to the size required by the website. However if your original source image is less than 480pxls in either height or width the process won't increase its size because this would result in a lower quality of image.
Although I have typed returns into the description field to layout my listing it always appears as a solid block on the website.
We have configured the tool to remove all html tags including paragraphs and line feeds. This is in order to present a compact and tidy what's on listing.
Can I edit or delete my listing once it has been published?
Yes. From www.a-n.co.uk/degrees_unedited go to My shows and select the show you want to edit or delete.
From the right hand tab select Edit show or Delete show to make the desired changes.
The show I want to list is not a degree show. Should I still publish it here?
No. Degrees unedited is an open space for visual and applied arts students in the run up to and presentation of their final year shows.
You should instead use Interface What's on
