# 7 [14 April 2010]

I started worrying about death last night. It's something that makes my heart stop when I think about it. I get this feeling I don't get at any other time.

It's just one of those things that is inevitable. I'm honestly not afraid of death. I used to worry about it as a child, and I would get told to stop being silly.

Now I feel that through art I am emphasizing my existence. Ever since I focused my life on art, I haven't worried. Any worry was unconsciously expressed through my work.

I just can't imagine myself not existing. But through art I can exist past my lifetime.

Hi Clare. I sometimes have a sense of the real conciousness of the finality of death and it does make one sit up from sleep. Then like you say, the work seems to make a difference, for me it is like I existed before in terms of the timelessness I try to get in my drawings. I try to get that eternal space in my work, the infinate within it. I'm interested in memory and this expanding and freezing of time through drawings of interiors which are an extension of self.

Yesterday went quite well, well I thought so at the time.

Today I got some feedback on my work, I didn't really get anything extremely helpful towards the decisions I need to make.

I need to figure out quite a few things and quite quickly aswel. I did want to feel secure about quite a lot of things by the end of the week, but I don't think it's very likely

I haven't been making over the last two weeks. I was determined to get in the studios and force myself to work, but it didn't happen. I don't think that ever happens, you just have to think in those times, think what you want to make before you jump in. I feel like jumping now. Jumping and sprinting.

I'm going into the studio today at my usual strange time span of 11 til 7, I don't think I understand 9 til 5.And i'll update with my goings on.

Last weeks of my BA degree, it's quite scary, but it's better to look at it as something to bring out the best in you.

1. I'm in the house alone, every creak sounds like a stranger.

2. I'm wearing a broken ring, I don't know where the stone has gone.

3. The television is on mute and i'm listening to my own soundtrack.

4. You're sat next door, I don't think I care about that kiss anymore.

5. I couldn't be bothered to wash my mug so I drank milk out of the carton, it gave me a headache.

6. I got changed because I didn't want to give too much away.

2. I don't know if I should have told you that.

I haven't managed to spend much time in the studios and I feel lost because of it. Going home for a week was probably not the most sensible idea, but I am going to spend the rest of this week in the studio all day for the remaining days. I did work on designs for our degree show catalogue last week though as I am working in a group to design and produce our catalogue.

Tomorrow I'm going to start work on larger ink drawings, using two colours in each one. I need to take some photographs tonight to vaguely work from. I don't always like working directly from photographs but i need to use them as a reference.

My work is primarily in 2D, at the moment I am producing ink drawings which are gradually turning into sketched paintings.

My body and myself are my subjects and I am also working with diaryesque texts which work alongside my drawings
