Old Victoria Buildings, Andrews Road, Llandaff North, Cardiff, CF14 2JP
Situated in a reclaimed Victorian Laundry in the Llandaff North section of Cardiff UK, TactileBOSCH opened as a fledgling art facility in June 2000. Primarily used as artists studios and an alternative exhibition space, it filled that time-honoured tradition of artist-led space, which the artists felt was missing in the new corporate renovation/resurgence currently underway in Cardiff. TactileBOSCH houses ten artists-in-residence, while supporting local emerging artists in the free space available, and retaining large portions of the space as alternative gallery/yshowing space. The organisation also plays host to film location shoots, large extra ciricular projects, singular residencies, and an annual international multi-media exhibition. TactileBOSCH artists state: "As a so-called 'cutting edge' studio, we aim to encourage fresh creativity on any level. Helping to ease that 'how to/where to' trauma, supporting younger artists in their transition from college into the 'real' world.. coddling that 'tender' creative process, providing a user friendly environment to flesh out new ideas, giving them an airing.. Fostering new talent is beneficial from both sides of the equation, we allow it to ferment, curdle and come to fruition relatively painlessly... "
