Over the next 12 months from 1st April 2010, the gallery will be based in various locations across Newcastle city centre and is one of the very first galleries in the city to involve itself with Newcastle Council's new Empty Shop scheme. The primary aim of the Moving Gallery is to offer new graduates the opportunity to exhibit alongside more established artists and to learn how to operate and actively participate in a gallery system. The gallery will also seek to involve the wider community by offering a series of talks and workshops run by exhibiting artists and by ourselves at the gallery. We also have a number of performance evenings planned for the coming months, with a variety of exciting artists and performers due to participate in the gallery project.
