Making Moves II [ 11 November 2011 ]

Making Moves is a craft development initiative which builds on a seven year partnership between Staffordshire County Council and Craftspace.  The programme comprises of 9 residencies, a touring exhibition and opportunities for students, graduates and professional makers. The selected artist will be hosted at Eagle House, Midland Heart Organisation,Stafford, to work with people who are faced with homelessness and to deliver high quality making sessions to stimulate critical discussion and an understanding of creative practice through making.  The artist will also have space and research and development time to further their own practice in response to the residency. A shadow artist placement will also offer a recent graduate the opportunity to observe and learn from lead artist to gain skills in working with communities and to develop their artistic practice. A sharing event/exhibition at the end of the residency will include activities which can be opened out to the wider community and potentially facilitated by community participants sharing their new skills.  Read full listing…

Staffordshire Arts & Museum Service would like to hear from all contemporary crafts people who can create work based on the broad theme of ‘Staffordshire’.
