The Graue Award [ 26 May 2010 ]
SoEx Off-Site is a Southern Exposure program that seeks to commission and present new work by emerging artists that intervenes and interacts in the social and political spheres beyond the space of gallery. SoEx supports and encourages these practices as few venues support emerging artists working in the public realm. The artists selected through the program will make a proposal and develop and present their work in the San Francisco Bay Area. Previous experience of working in public spaces is not essential for selection in this program. With the support of The Graue Family Foundation, Southern Exposure will commission two major public projects in the Bay Area in 2011 and 2012 through two annual open calls for proposals. In each round of this program, SoEx will select one project for realization and offer a $15,000 award.
