Using the Arts with Young People at Risk [ 4 May 2011 ]

Accredited Training Course. Artswork is pleased to be delivering the established one day course -'Using the Arts with Young People at Risk' in partnership with Cornerhouse, Manchester. This course is being delivered as part of the 'Progress' Project. 'Progress' is subsiding places for those booking on from voluntary or community organisations. This course gives an overview of the benefits of using the arts with young people at risk and covers essential areas when doing so. Participants are given an understanding of youth arts and youth culture and the skill set needed to successfully design, fund, manage and market an appropriate arts project. Working with Young People with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties in the Cultural Sector [ 29 November 2010 ]

Half-day workshop exploring the range of causes for young people exhibiting social, emotional or challenging behaviour. Tools and techniques will be explored for engaging young people in a way that encourages, promotes and supports positive behaviour. Free, one day workshop exploring the advantages and challenges of working with young people with SEN. The workshop will identify barriers to participation experienced by young people in the cultural sector, and offer practical tools and techniques for removing, overcoming and avoiding them in project planning, design, implementation and evaluation. 6-day accredited course (with Middlesex University), providing an induction to using the arts with socially excluded young people, and the tools, skills and knowledge to needed to run a successful youth arts project within this context.
